Description
This course is for adults who are neurodivergent and want to build on the skills they learned in the taster sessions. It offers a calm, structured and supportive way to develop real catering skills and gain more confidence in a kitchen environment. You will learn more about food preparation, kitchen safety, teamwork and daily routines in catering. The course helps you understand how your strengths fit into different catering roles and gives you the chance to practise tasks in a safe, steady way. By the end, you will have a clearer idea of the types of catering jobs available and what steps you can take next.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you are neurodivergent and want to explore working in the catering industry. It's a good fit if you would like a calm, structured introduction to kitchen tasks, want to build your confidence, or are unsure whether catering might be the right type of job for you. You don't need any previous experience, just an interest in finding out what catering work is like.
How will I learn?
You will learn through practical, hands?on activities in a calm and supportive kitchen environment. Each session is structured so you know what to expect, and tasks are broken down into clear, easy steps. You will learn at your own pace, with staff on hand to guide you and give you help when you need it. There will also be chances to ask questions, practise skills, and build confidence in a safe space.
What will I need?
You don't need any experience to join this course. You should wear comfortable clothes and closed?toe shoes that are safe for working in a kitchen. We will provide the equipment, ingredients and any protective items you need. Just bring yourself, any personal support you prefer, and be ready to try new things at your own pace.
