Description
Our First Aid for parents and carers course is a friendly, practical session designed to give you the confidence and skills to respond calmly in a child emergency. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, or caring for little ones in any capacity, you'll learn life-saving techniques in a relaxed, supportive environment—no prior experience needed.
Through hands-on activities and real-life scenarios, we cover essential topics such as choking, CPR, burns, bleeding, and common childhood illnesses. You'll leave feeling reassured, empowered, and better prepared to keep children safe—because when it matters most, confidence can make all the difference.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you may ever need to help an ill or injured child. Our courses are for people who live in the EMCCA region aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. There will be practical activities with guidance from your tutor. The course will be a mix of tutor-led activities, individual work and group work. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
You may need to bend and kneel during the course so you should wear comfortable clothing. You may want to bring something to make notes.

This course is free and there are no other costs.
