Description
All of our Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven ‘purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning. This course will help to build on your parenting skills and offer practical support to increase your confidence in raising neurodiverse children. It focuses on strengthening self-advocacy skills, helping you communicate effectively, feel heard, and navigate services with greater assurance. You'll explore simple, realistic strategies for staying calm under pressure, developing routines that work for your family, and knowing where to access help and support. The course provides a supportive space to share experiences and gain tools to feel more confident and empowered in your parenting journey.
Who is this course for?
This course is for parents/carers who engage with Umbrella. Our courses are for people who live in the EMCCA region aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. There will be practical activities with guidance from your tutor. The course will be a mix of tutor-led activities and group work. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
You may want to bring something to make notes.
